Community, Causes, and a Little Bit of Horror (and a LOT of Heart)
Good Games, Good People, and One Very Anxious Pup
Hey everyone,
It's been a while, but I'm back with some exciting updates!
Building Worlds, Building Community: My Work
I'm still deep in the work I love most: serving as a community and marketing specialist for indie gaming companies and startups. There's a special kind of magic in helping these passionate creators connect with their audience, build thriving online spaces, and share their unique visions with the world. I get to wear a lot of hats, from crafting social media strategies to organizing community events, and every day is a new adventure.
Launching Tunnels VR!
But that's not all! I also had the intense and incredibly rewarding experience of helping to launch Tunnels VR, a horror game that is so fun, yet claustrophobic. It was a wild ride from start to finish, and I learned so much about the collaborative effort it takes to bring a game to market, and the unique challenges and opportunities within the marketing and community side of the industry. I can officially say that I have shipped my first game!
A Furry Friend: Enter Solomon
On a personal note, my life has gotten a whole lot furrier! I adopted the sweetest (and most initially anxious) dog, Solomon, from Angel City Pit Bulls. He came to me as a foster, and well... it was a classic "foster fail" (the best kind, of course!). The first few weeks were a real adjustment. Solomon was understandably nervous, and juggling his needs with my work and other responsibilities was a challenge. But with patience and a whole lot of love, he's blossomed into the most wonderful best friend. He's brought so much joy (and a fair bit of chaos!) to my life.

Giving Back with CHOC
I'm also so excited to be participating in the 2025 CHOC Walk in the Park at Disneyland® Resort to raise money for CHOC. They provide such vital healthcare services to children and families in need, and I'm deeply grateful for the opportunity to support their incredible mission. If you'd like to donate to my team or even join me for the Walk, you can find all the details here: https://www.chocwalk.org/tash
GamesBeat Next Week
Headed to GamesBeat next week! I'm looking forward to connecting with industry folks and soaking up all the insights. I'd love to see some of you there if you're attending!
Cheat Codes: Games for Good
The April episode of Cheat Codes is all about how games can be a powerful force for positive change in the world. We had an amazing conversation with Savannah Badalich and Jessica Murrey about World Reborn, a game that's pushing the boundaries of storytelling, behavioral science, and player empowerment. It's truly inspiring stuff!
Humble Bundle: Supporting Breakthrough T1D
Humble Bundle is back at it, harnessing the power of gaming for a fantastic cause. Right now, they've got a bundle of nine awesome games supporting Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF), the leading global organization pushing for advancements in treatments and, ultimately, a cure for type 1 diabetes.
What makes this even more special is that folks within the game development community who have direct connections to T1D – including game developers themselves – worked on every single one of the games in this collection! You can snag titles like Batman: The Enemy Within, The Walking Dead, Sam & Max Save the World, Never Alone, and more, all while contributing to a cause that touches the lives of over 9 million people worldwide, including many in our own creative circles.
If you're looking to expand your game library and make a real difference, you can check out the bundle and contribute here: Humble Bundle
Closing
That's all for now! Thanks for catching up with me. I'll be back with more chaotic good adventures soon.
