Magic & Melee

Chaotic Good

Hey! Welcome to Magic & Melee. I want to take a moment to thank you for subscribing to my newsletter. It really means a lot to me. I am a busybody and you’ve probably found your way here because you know me as a content creator.

Here’s a little more about me: I am a multi-passionate creative with a "chaotic good" approach to life. I'm a gamer, a fashion enthusiast, a word nerd, and a passionate advocate for building inclusive communities. I also happen to be a streamer, a social media manager, an aspiring game developer, a writer, and the host of Cheat Codes for Women in Games International.

I’ve spent a good chunk of time creating newsletters and building social media platforms for others, so I think it’s time for me to do the same for myself.

What I'm Building

On my channels, you'll find a mix of gaming moments and fashion finds (blue pants related, of course), hilarious puns and thought-provoking discussions. I'm all about creating a positive and welcoming space where everyone can feel comfortable being themselves.

The TikTok Saga

If you’ve followed me from TikTok—you know how much of a roller coaster that has been. I took a very long break from creating content for myself so that I could focus on my mental health. I wasn’t in the space to pretend like I was ok, nor was I comfortable being transparent with my struggles. Even though we were told that the ban was imminent, it did not feel real- so I planned to come back to the platform at the beginning of 2025.

Then the ban happened—for about 14 hours. I’m still not sure what this means for creators. I’m not sure what it means for me at all.

Chaotic Good: Lending a Hand

As a Southern Californian, the wildfires are an ever-present thing. People still need help. While financial help is still king, I understand how tight resources are for many of us right now.

Here are some ways to help:

  1. Volunteer Your Time:

    • Local Organizations: Many organizations are on the ground providing assistance to fire victims. See if they need volunteers for tasks like:

      • Sorting and distributing donations.

      • Providing emotional support to evacuees.

      • Helping with cleanup efforts.

    • Animal Shelters: Fires often displace pets. Shelters and rescue organizations may need help with:

      • Walking dogs.

      • Cleaning cages.

      • Fostering animals temporarily.

    • Community Centers: Community centers often serve as temporary shelters. They might need volunteers for:

      • Serving meals.

      • Providing childcare.

      • Organizing activities for evacuees.

  2. Donate Goods:

    • Check with local shelters and organizations: They often have specific lists of needed items. Many organizations are overwhelmed with clothing donations and many of the items they have received are not usable due to poor condition.

    • Organize a donation drive: If you can't donate yourself, rally your friends, family, or community to gather supplies.

  3. Offer Your Skills:

    • Are you a handyman? Offer to help with repairs for those whose homes were damaged.

    • Are you a therapist or counselor? Provide emotional support to those affected by the fires.

    • Are you good with social media? Help spread awareness about donation drives and volunteer opportunities.

  4. Spread the Word:

    • Share information about resources: Let people know where they can find shelters, donate goods, or volunteer.

    • Use your social media: Amplify the voices of those affected by the fires and share ways to help.

Remember to check with local authorities and organizations for the most up-to-date information on how to help. They can direct you to the areas of greatest need and ensure your efforts are coordinated and effective.
